Accommodation

Gloucester offers a wide range of accommodation. For our guests travelling from abroad, we particularly recommend the Gloucester Docks area, from where you can easily walk to the ceremony venue. Here are a few of our suggestions:

In addition to hotels, there are also some comfortable Airbnb options available in the area.

Transport

Getting to Gloucester

By Plane

Ryanair offers flights from Poznań to three airports: Birmingham, Bristol International and London Stansted. Birmingham and Bristol are both around an hour's drive from Gloucester.

We recommend flying into Birmingham as it has better transport links. The train from the airport via Birmingham New Street to Gloucester takes around 1 hour 20 minutes.

Flights to London Stansted operate daily and may be the most convenient option, although the journey to Gloucester takes slightly longer – around 2 hours 30 minutes by train.

From 27th November 2024 the UK government will require an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) for all visitors to the UK. This will cost £10 per person. You can find more information and apply here.

By Train
Gloucester train station is a 15 minute walk from the ceremony venue and a 20 minute walk from Gloucester Docks. There is a taxi rank at the front of the station.
Parking
There is a small car park next to Blackfriars Priory but plenty of parking in the Docks. There will be parking available nearby the reception venue.

On the Day

Taxis
Maisemore is a small village with no taxi service so please ensure you book your taxis in advance. Local taxi firms are listed below.
Private Bus
For our international guests we are planning to provide a private bus between the ceremony and the reception and then back to Gloucester Docks afterwards. Please let us know if you are interested in this so we can get an idea of numbers.

Things to Do

We know many of you will be travelling a long way so may be planning a longer trip and take the opportunity to visit the surrounding area.

Gloucester is a beautiful city with plenty of things to see and do. We recommend visiting the Cathedral, Gloucester Docks and the Quays. There are also plenty of shops, bars and restaurants to enjoy.

Nearby there is the picturesque Cotswolds, Cheltenham and Oxford.

If you would like us to suggest some ideas for places to visit please let us know, we'd be happy to help.

Children

We have chosen not to have children at our wedding. We hope you will take this opportunity to have a night off, relax and enjoy yourselves.
